Dr. Ces Acuin is one of the foremost nutrition experts in the Philippines. She graduated as Doctor of Medicine from the University of the Philippines and acquired a doctorate in Nutrition from Cornell University. She is an adjunct Associate Professor at the Institute of Human Nutrition and Food of the University of the Philippines in Los Baños. She is currently on the Board of Directors of the Philippine Nutrition Association, of which she also served as President from 2020-2021. She has worked as Senior Scientist of the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) and as Chief Science Research Specialist of the Food & Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI)-DOST. At present, she is a much sought after consultant and researcher for local and international nutrition programs, including the World Health Organization and World Bank. She shares her work as co-author of numerous articles, book chapters, and technical reports published both here and abroad. Dr. Ces is a recipient of various awards, the latest of which is Teresa’s Achievement Award for Science and Medicine, given to alumnae of St. Theresa’s College for their outstanding contribution to their field.
