A Philippines with healthy and well-rounded children.
Tanglaw ni Teresa, imbued with the Theresian values of Service, Tenacity, and Compassion, aims to support and assist children in their early development stage, located in remote, depressed, and hard-to-reach islands, municipalities, and barangays, in partnership with the government, civil society, and the private sector.
Tanglaw ni Teresa's brand of service, Kalinga ni Teresa, is a two-fold holistic approach that addresses key issues in health and nutrition (Kalinga sa Kalusugan) and education (Kalinga sa Karunungan) for children ages 0-59 months old (preschool-aged).
Kalinga sa Kalusugan
TnT will serve as the link for the delivery of health & nutrition services in the daycare centers, as well as for the health care & nutrition delivery system.
It will establish an effective and functional referral system from the devolved health care facilities at the barangay, municipal, district and provincial level to the DOH-retained medical centers and hospitals if needed.
Kalinga sa Karunungan
TnT will serve as the link in the delivery of developmentally appropriate education of children from ages 0 to 59 months in selected daycare centers.
It will do so by:
- providing technical support to child development workers;
- helping provide developmentally appropriate learning materials to children; and,
- supporting families in providing their young children with early stimulation at home.
